A new search is coming… Hopper Travel

As reported by multiple channels today, a new stealth startup is preparing to take the game of travel to a whole new level. Hopper Travel, started by former Expedia employees, recently raised over $8 million in startup funding to chase their dreams of revolutionizing the search for travel information.

The goal of the new Hopper Tavel site won’t be focused on finding prices and itineraries for folks who already know where they want to go and what they want to do. Rather, Hopper will accept natural language queries from users and return a list of destinations and travel options accordingly.

This service is slotted to bring a more navigational, and free searching feel to finding travel, and a competitor to Google, not Expedia. You can browse to their current site and see some already familiar things… the straight forward clean Ui, simple navigation, etc. Now the question will be what can it provide in the long run, and where will the data come from?

Addtionally there are rumors about what is coming from Google’s recent aquisition of ITA Software for the search Giant.

Maybe there will be even more competition now.
